Position consisted of two parts:
Main duty was technical support for dial-up connections
for the city-owned Internet Service Provider, "LakesNet," solving both software and
hardware issues. Most support was done over the phone though on-site,
in-house, and email correspondence was also common. Less common
LakesNet issues included support of software-related problems for broadband wireless
connections, signing-up and adding of new customers, virus
removal, and web design.
Second portion of position consisted of support for a wide variety of issues for
the computers run at the city offices, police department, and water treatment plant.
